While red and infrared light are emitted by the sun and to a certain extent some tanning beds, there is also exposure to UV rays that can be damaging to skin if over exposed. In addition, tanning beds don't provide a sufficient dosage of beneficial wavelengths to have any therapeutic effect.

Because there is no ultraviolet or ionizing radiation, there is virtualy zero risk and no side effects.

Typically you will see results in three to six weeks, depending on the particular goal, but the more frequent the sessions, the faster you will see reults. If dealing with an injury, then isolating red light therapy to the specific area may be more effective, again with frequency being the key component.

How long is a Red Light Therapy session?

Sessions range from 8-30 minutes depending on the specific application. Full body sessions are 8-12 minutes, while isolated therapy and fat reduction sessions are 15-30 minutes.
